1. Amazon makes a kindle app which allows you to buy eBooks from Amazon and read them on the iPad. The iPad also usupports the open ePub format. Read more about that here: http://bit.ly/9qrL2u

2. The iPhone OS 4 update later in the year will bring multitasking to the iPad.
